This week in class we picked four vocabulary words to define and do a small activities on. I did the words coaxing, earnest, perturbed, and tentative. I found out that coaxing means to persuade. Earnest means to be serious in intention. Perturbed means to be anxious or unsettled; upset. And that tentative means to not be certain. On the word coaxing I did synonyms and antonyms I found out that tempt and allure are synonyms of coaxing and that prevent and discourage are antonyms of coaxing. On earnest I did a pictorial representation with the picture on the bottom and said that this picture represents earnest because it is a picture of a straight face. On perturbed I did elaborate acrostic and wrote John, the boy, was very perturbed. And on tentative I did a "take two" rhyming couplet and I wrote the boy looked at the teacher with a tentative face, he was confused with the question that the teacher asked.
