This week we read a story called Props For Faith It was a story about two girls who had hope. In the short story props for faith by usual hegi there is a lot of faith used. This short story is about two girls. One has polio. Polio is a sickness where someone has a shorter leg than the other. One of the two friends Hanna, wants to cure the other friend named Renate from this disability after she really hurts her by calling her a very hurtful name. This story takes place after world war II or post world war II in Germany. We know this because one of the vocabulary words was Frau. Frau is used to refer to a married woman. In translation to English Frau is Mrs.. Another Vocabulary word that gives us a hint that the setting is in Germany is Dma. Dma means Grandma in German. Hannah is determined to help fix her best friends leg after they have a very unfriendly argument that changes the way that they act around each other. In one part of the story Hanna sneaks into the church and takes holy water to try to cure her friend Renate from her polio disease. In the end the holy water does not heal Renate’s leg from polio, but it does heal Hanna and Renate’s friendship. This short story is about two girls who have a lot of hope.
